If I wanted to replace the leaf springs on my '74 Nova hatchback, how do I choose the replacement? The car has the multi-leaf setup now, and I want to stick with that. But...

There are 4-leaf packs and 5-leaf packs. There are "stock" springs with "spring rates" (which I have no idea what it means) starting at 125 (pounds, I presume) to aftermarket springs with ratings of up to 250.

I'd like either factory ride height, or maybe an inch higher (which might happen automagically with new springs :D).

Please help me choose. Also, where would you buy springs? Summit seems to have the best price on OEM replacements at less than a hundred bucks a pop.

The spring rate is how much force or weight it takes to deflect a spring one inch.

Just get replacement springs with the same number of leaves your originals have, and you should be good to go.

When I replaced to one on my '70, my local spring and brake shop had them in stock.
