hello i was wondering how much work it would take to put a 454 in a 76 and if so what parts would i need to go with it like a list and also does it matter what the motor comes out of is there like a specific 454 that i would want within a certain year or make or model

I would go with a Gen IV block, not a tall deck 1990's and later. Your gonna new a set of big block headers that fit a full size gm car, and the correct motor mounts. I do not know what the part numbers for the engine mounts are but they are pretty common and should be able to be found at your local parts stores.

I have a 454 big block in my 77 with no problems.

i think we need a stickie "how to put a BBC in your 4th gen"
I agree. this has come up about 6 times in the past week

70-81 Headers, your factory SBC mounts will work fine.

id suggest upgradeing your hear core housing and heater core. 67-68 camaro with a Big Block heater core nad the box that bolt to the firewall. keeps you from smashing the inlet and outlet when putting the valve cover on.
