Well heres my prob. I ordered a 5 lug front disc conversion kit for my 62HT 1 year ago and i just pulled them out of the box to install them. problem is the upper left side caliper hold down pin is rubbing the rotor causing the rotor not to spin. These are pre-assembled spindle out to caliper. it looks as if the hole in the caliper brakect was drilled and tapped in the wrong place.The lower pin seems to have good clearance and the right side assembly is fine.I think all i would need is a new caliper bracket. I'm afraid they will not warrenty this since it has been so long. still have the reseit dated 9-3-08. Has anyone ever ran into this problem? I remember a thread started by the cpp rep. for any problems but i can't find the thread. HELP ME PLEASE.
From what I have seen try loosening the two bolts that hold the caliper bracket to the spindle and see if you can gain clearance you need by repositioning the bracket.Once you have the clearance you need tighten the bolts back down.One of the problems has been the holes in the bracket at the spindle are 1/2 and the bolts that are used are 7/16 this leaves room for some movement

Some cars had 1/2" holes in the steering arms and spindles (like mine). Most kits are made with 1/2" holes so they fit all the cars and the slop is not an issue. I would prefer not to have the slop and drill the holes to 1/2".

These were a full kit spindles,arms,drilled/slotted rotors,calipers,w/b,and flexlines all preassembled.I'm really not diggin the slop ether. i'm at work right now so i'm not sure if the slop in the bolt holes is there. will check tonight.

I got in trouble by the mods for "ranting" on previous posts but it is what it is: sometimes you get someone good to talk to on the other line sometimes you dont. I called and asked for jeff and danny both were not in- so a "sales" guy fielded my questions. he was worthless... (okay, okay...Im done mods).
I hope you have better luck- just be honest with them Id bet they might understand. Im like you, I had my disc kit for over 9 months before we put it on this weekend.

But i'm really not happy with the amount of play there is in the bracket.It seems a little on the hokky side if you ask me. I would think it would move over time, theres a lot of force on those 2 bolts when applying the brakes to have that amount of slop.I will give them a call and see if i get the run around or not. for a 700$ bones kit there should be a little more QC i would think. Thanks for all the help guys.

Use 1/2" bolts and drill your steering arms if necessary.
For what it is worth, our experience with this situation was not resolved with drilling the steering arms and or spindle for a 1/2" bolt. With the smaller bolt in the bigger hole the brakes on the old "Test" wagon worked fine. Once we drilled the holes to accept the 1/2" bolts everything became centered properly, however we had the rotor and caliper bolt issue at that point. Prior to drilling the 1/2 inch holes the slop was used to allow for the extra needed clearance.
At this point CPP was contacted and revised parts were installed to make for the needed improvements. I was not present when the new parts were installed nor do I know what the revision was. There is a fix for the issue it is just a matter of a phone call and explaining the problem.
Just one more thing that does not work out of the box. Hope they correct the issue based on how they made them that way.
My experience with CPP is that they will go over the top to make sure that their customers are taken care of. If you ever have the opportunity you should go down there and bs with them. Great bunch of guys.

Mine squeaked like hell,I used some MOC brake noise stuff on friction surface and lubed all of the contact points with PBC grease and they have been quiet since September.I do not know if it will be a long term fix.I think it is caused by poor quality(cheap) pads.
Stories like these make me glad I went with who I did for my brake kit. I was real close to ordering the CPP kit but didn't. No brake system should have to be modified to fit, especially when bought as one unit. Modifying brakes is a bad thing.
